In chapter 6 I chose to be an ambassador, yet the next page, the start of chapter 7, skipped straight into "The beginning of the war..." as if I'd said to just go to war. I'm not sure if that's intentional or a mistake in the game, but I recommend this game regardless.. Basically the gameplay of Choice of Magics can be summed up in 4 simple steps:01 Situation X arises;02 Choose between magics A, B, and C for dealing with said situation;03 Situation dealt with; mastery of magic A\/B\/C increases!04 GOTO 01What about roleplay? Sorry I haven't seen any. Such a grave disappointment considering that this came from the same guy behind Choice of Robots. Go play that one instead if you haven't done so already.. It's a good choice of, I love the author's work, but I don't think it's quite as well done as choice of Robots. I probably played through robots 5-8 times or so. This one I've really struggled to push through a second. I think it more has to do with the subject matter and how your choices are presented. Magic is a cool topic and negative conciquences to using it isn't new. I do feel that I just didn't _like_ my choices or how the character reacted to them.I end up feeling like rumplestiltskin from Once Upon a Time than someone trying to learn magic.It's good. It's just not THAT good.. This game is very imagintative and adventurous, it really gives you the choice to be good and kind, or evil and powerful, as well as how you do it. I haven't finished the game, but i greatly recommend getting it. It is just 5 dollars, you are not going to find many games as good as this for that price.. Great game.. A great variety of choices and paths. During my 5 hours with this game I've played through 3 storylines that were very different and had their own unique endings. The writing is well done, though sometimes I didn't get too immersed and slogged through some pages. But maybe that's just me. Overall good CYOA definitely worth the 5$ I paid.. LOVE THIS GAME in my opinion this is by far the best Choice Of game.. Not quite as enthralling as Choice of Robots, if only for me personally, but nevertheless another great entry in the Choice of Games lineup. My one complaint about this game is that Glamour leads to Rot. Playing entirely without Glamour, I was still subjected to the effects of the Rot, which seems to form a plot point of varying importance depending on the path you take and the choices you make.After all is said and done with this game, I am satisfied that it was a purchase worth the cost.
